Care Instruction
• Find a bright indirect sunlight for roughly 8 hours daily. After 2 to 3 months, you should see green/brown algae forming on the seashells and glass. This is a sign that your system is established and healthy. Your shrimp will grace on these algae and bacteria. Living room and offices are great place for this system.
• Location: keep indoor at room temperature between 62-80 degrees F. You may leave in direct sunlight but there is a chance it might get too hot. Caution: leaving it near window (temperature fluctuation), on top of fireplace, or heater vent (too hot).
• Use corrosion resistance magnet cleaner to clean algae or move stuff around if needed. Magnet can be pick up again if drop to the bottom.
• Reduce lighting to 5-8 hours if you notice an algae bloom.
• Breeding: It’s rare but can happen. Your shrimp might reproduce after 1-2 years. The eggs are red and visible under the shrimp belly. One can typically berry 3-10 eggs for 2 months before releasing them. The sealed in the bottom may be broken to let them out. Once this is broken, it cannot be resealed.
